Magical Holidays Begin at Downtown Crossing #DTXHolidays
If you haven't been to Downtown Crossing lately, the holidays are the perfect time to discover amazing restaurants and shops.
For that special gift, visit Boston's only Holiday Marketplace, sponsored by Bank of America. Located at 467 Washington Street (across from Macy's) will consist of 20 artisans offering handmade crafts. Wonderful and unique items - including clothing, candles, candy and jewelry. There is something for everyone on your list.
Enjoy the National Center of Afro-American Artists' "Black Nativity" at the Paramount Theater and the Boston Ballet's "The Nutcracker" at the Boston Opera House. Find the perfect gift thanks to the largest collection of jewelers in New England. Enjoy walking Boston's historic streets all lit up for the holidays. With live holiday-themed music, entertainers and more -- DTX promises this holiday season will be magical. Also, use the hashtag #DTXHolidays to spread the word on social media.
The holiday season kicked off with the annual Macy's Holiday Tree Lighting on Black Friday (Nov. 22nd). The Boston Children’s Choir performed as well as Grammy nominated R&B singer Keri Hilson, Indie pop/rock duo Heffron Drive and national recording R&B artist Jaye Valentine.
Mayor Martin Walsh, BID President & CEO Rosemarie Sansone and Santa Claus lead the countdown to lighting the tree. It was a magical night!

Santa Claus will be outside of Macy's on Summer Street on weekends through Dec. 23rd from noon to 2 pm and 3 to 4 pm. It is free to visit Santa, but please bring your own camera if you want to snap a photo with St. Nick.
Come and hear the holiday music of our two four-piece strolling holiday bands and two four-piece strolling caroling groups. They will be roaming the downtown Boston area daily from noon to 2 pm and 4:30 to 6:30 pm through Dec. 23rd. After Christmas through New Year's Day there will be one holiday band performing daily from noon to 2 pm and 4:30-6:30 pm.
The musical group Sweet Harmony will be performing on weekends outside of Macy's on Summer Street through Dec. 23rd from 12:30 to 3 pm. They will be performing hits from the 1970s through today, including holiday-themed songs.
The all-male a cappella group Vocal Revolution will be performing on Summer Street outside of Macy's this holiday season. The group were the 2016 winners of WGBH's Sing That Thing, Vocal Revolution, will be singing barbershop-style melodies on Thursday, Dec. 6th, 13th and 20th from 5:15 to 6:15 pm. All performances are free to attend.
